Summary
The Wild Suburbs embraced solitude and stillness throughout every summer Natalie Scatorccio lived there. Until 1985s, when Lottie Matthews was told to take care of her grandmother and Natalie was about to stop complaining about the constant boredom each summer brought her. And it all started with dead, white rabbits. If you see them too – go home and never explore on your own. It’s always dead animals that leave bruises and scars on your skin.

Summary
“Strawberries are my favorite.”
“Yeah? Why’s that?” Nat said, picking at her chipped nail polish.
Lottie chewed a second berry then began to speak again.
“You never know what you’ll get from them. Most of the time, they’re too sour, makes me not want to even eat them.”
She pushed the container towards Nat. Nat hesitantly picked one up and slowly chewed it, letting the juice soak into her mouth.
“But sometimes, during the right seasons, the strawberries are perfect. Still a little sour, but softer, a bit sweet. That’s what I hope for when I bite into them.”
Or
