It’s the weirdest excuse for a sleepover she’s ever been involved in.

(Or, after the events of 2x9, Joyce decides that everyone may as well stay the night. It's sort of a mess, but Nancy expected nothing less.)

    Summary

In the dream, Jonathan was falling.

It was not the first time he’d dreamt of the radio tower.

For days now his sleeping mind had trapped him there, racing and panting and sweating as he climbed to fix the antenna.

Jonathan wished these were nightmares. He wished that when he looked down, he saw monsters racing after him. Wished that when he looked up he'd see Nancy or Will dangling from the edge of the top platform. It was a fucked up thing to wish for, he knew, but he hated that the most alive he'd felt in two years was while he was racing up a radio tower.

This dream was not like those. It was cold and fast and soaked with dread.

It was knowing nothing except the roar in his ears and the idea that sometime soon he'd hit solid ground.

Sometime, quicker than he'd ever wanted, he'd be dead.

Even weirder, he was holding Steve Harrington's hand.

Alternate version of Operation Beanstalk where Jonathan and Steve fall down the radio tower and Jonathan has to take care of an injured Steve, leading to some honest conversations between the two of them and some sparks Jonathan doesn’t quite understand yet.

    Jonathan’s POV throughout.

He wouldn't have blamed them if they hadn't let him into their lives. But they did—more or less reluctantly—and slowly, without any of them really noticing, their two families merged into one.
