After the Nogitsune drama, things are getting better. Everything is super. Until the murders happen, at least. Peter feels like he's being mocked by the universe, when one bad thing after the other happens. He ends up with a tomahawk in his chest, gets some unpleasant memories back, has to deal with a very alive Kate Argent and can't really understand, why Stiles likes to spend time with him. But everything is super. Kind of.
Or: An alternative season 4 story line with Peter NOT collaborating with the woman responsible for his trauma, Derek NOT enjoying using a blowtorch on Peter, and with trauma actually playing a role for the plot.

Summary
What Peter both admired and despised about Stiles was how observant the teenager was. Always poking his nose in business decidedly not his own. Always meddling with things better left alone. Never letting things go.
It was infuriatingly familiar.
Who knew this human would upend his entire life? Not that Peter is really complaining much.
*Basically a squint-and-it's-semi-canon-compliant AU where Peter is the one to realize that something is wrong with Stiles the night he crashes his jeep into the warehouse and decides to do something about it.*

The lights in the clinic were blindingly bright, slowly bringing about a headache while a beta nurse attended to him. She was human, Stiles could feel his spark all the time now and just knew these things.
“Okay hun, do you think there’s a chance you might be pregnant?” she asked, not even looking up at him from the list of questions she was having him answer.
Stiles went to say no, there wasn’t any way, but there was, wasn’t there? It was rare for a male omega to get pregnant outside of a heat, but it was possible. And Stiles had bedded not one, but two alpha’s, one of them a werewolf.
The words died on his tongue, faltering as the thing he had refused to think about sank in as a very much real possibility.
“Yes,” he said instead, the word ripped from him roughly.———
Everything changes for Stiles in the worst way it could. One thing led to another and the Stilinski’s are left with no choice but to leave Beacon Hills for good.
Stiles leaves with more than just his father for company, and destroys a few lives while he’s at it.

Despite half of the pack being reluctantly civil with Peter at best, the entire room seemed to hold a collective breath as Deaton poured the liquid over the deep gashes in his chest and abdomen—where they had literally had to hold his organs in his body as they sped to the clinic in Theo’s truck. Finally, slowly, Peter’s wounds began to stitch themselves back together—and Stiles saw his vision blur with unshed tears before he even registered the urge to cry.
It felt like far too long, but eventually, Peter’s eyes snapped open with strangled gasp—and the pack sagged in relief. If Peter was conscious, he’d be okay. He was a survivor, after all.
“Gods, I hate Mondays,” Peter said hoarsely.
“You bastard,” Stiles chuckled, or maybe sobbed—it was hard to tell.

Unfortunately for them Stiles takes offence at this and Peter agrees, actually so does the Sheriff. "Hello, Chris," sings a honeyed voice from behind.
Chris' attention snaps toward the intruder, his gun already out of its' holster and aimed at whoever it is — a boy, apparently, with braided russet hair, a red jacket, and wise eyes. He's wearing a gas mask, but Chris can tell by the way his eyes crinkle around the edges, the way sun-burnt sand swirls in his irises, that he's smiling.
Chris cocks his gun.
"You killed my father," he says.
"No offence, but he totally deserved it," the stranger agrees with cheerful solemnity.
"What the hell are you doing in my home?" Chris demands. The kid is perched on a windowsill in Chris' office, as nonchalantly as if this were something he did every day, as if they were familiar.
"I was just wondering," the kid speaks softly, fond amusement sewn through with a peculiar resignation, "how you'd feel about putting down some nazis?"
