Summary
Dean left the horseman’s rings in the trunk of the impala after Sam sacrificed himself to stop Lucifer. After everyone he loved left him all at once, it was easy to forget he left them there. Several years later, he gets a harsh reminder that he should really take better care of the extremely powerful artifacts he's left lying around. .
Now, Cas is cursed with famine and since Jimmy left, his hunger is beginning to drive him mad. He just hopes they can get them all back before he does something he regrets.
Dean is just happy that Cas is sticking around more than he usually does.

Castiel died, and Dean stopped living.
Dean swears to the empty that he will be quiet as long as he can be with Cas. The Empty, enjoying how much pain Dean is in, deny's his request and uses his greif to taunt him. Desperate and delusional, Dean swears to keep his promise. Even after he is thrown back in time by Jack for everyone's safety. Even after there are mysterious portals being torn open throughout the world because of his heartache.
Dean won't give up. Not for anything. He will do anything to be together with Cas. Even if that means ripping out his own vocal chords to do it.

Summary
Dean is fine. The way he sees it, things are simple. He had a house and a family and food in his stomach, and now he doesn't. And yeah, that's a downer, but he's not going to let that stop him from being fine, because he's in control of the situation. He definitely doesn't need anyone to save him. And it's not like the weird guy with the nice butt from down the road is the knight-in-shining-armor type, anyway.

Newly stripped of his grace and with his wings clipped, Castiel is torn between his desire to stay close to Dean in the Bunker, and his duty to fix the mistake he made by trusting Metatron, allowing the angels to be expelled from heaven. Complicating matters further, Dean has recently acquired wings in an attempt to expel Gadreel from Sam gone sidewise. Wings that only Castiel can help Dean control.

A few beats of silence pass, almost to the extent of worrying Dean that he’s been caught eavesdropping.
“Sam,” Castiel quietly starts, tone careful. “I’m not sure how to less boldly ask, but...is there any chance that Dean may have been avoiding short sleeves for other reasons?”.
Okay, now Dean is ready to intervene. Like, ASAP.
He plasters on a content grin and tries to pretend as if his very bones aren’t rattling from fear, marching in with an unexpectedly rough, “Mornin’,” as he makes his way into the kitchen—thoroughly interrupting Sam’s apprehensive, “What do you mean ‘other reasons’?”.

Summary
"You did this to yourself on purpose,” Cas deduces quietly as he drags his eyes up from the hunter's forearm, looking a little gut-wrenched at the realization but concealing it fairly well. At least one of them has to remain composed right now.
Dean doesn’t respond, but his eyebrows crinkle near-imperceptibly as he works hard to keep his face steeled.
It’s not imperceptible to Cas, though; not this close together. That little crinkle of his eyebrows is as clear of a confirmation as ever.
(TLDR: 5 times that Dean deflected speculations from his loved ones about his self-harming secret, and 1 time that he finally lets himself be taken care of and cry it out fr!)
