Zuko hated being an omega.
He hated the sweet smell of fire lilies that came off him or how everything he touched became covered in the smell of his Unch Iroh’s jasmine tea.
He hated the softness of his thighs and the sudden wideness of his hips. He hated being treated like glass, like he couldn’t be strong, tough like his sister.
Most of all, he hated the heats.
The burning of the inside of his skin, the haze over his mind, the gross, hot slick between his legs.

Summary
Sokka's stomach dropped. It felt… wrong for somebody else to flirt with Zuko. He felt unexplainably uneasy. He wanted to go back to camp. Now. Before he realized he was speaking, the words were already out.
"We're pretty busy."
Three heads turned toward him, including Zuko's. The stranger looked annoyed. "I was asking him."
"I know."
An awkward moment passed as the alpha looked between them. "Oh. My mistake."
Sokka frowned. "What mistake?"
"I didn't realize."
"Realize what?"
"I thought he wasn’t mated."
Oh.
Did… did he think that Sokka was Zuko’s boyfriend? Hah. It might’ve been humorous if it wasn’t so surprising.

Sokka was perfectly happy being a beta...Probably. Okay, maybe not perfectly happy, but he had come to terms with it. Being the only nonbender in Team Avatar was bad enough. Being the only beta just made him feel even more painfully average. Then an alpha asked Zuko out in the middle of the market. Sokka woke up the next morning an alpha. When Katara’s grandfather dies, she travels back home to the South Pole for the first time in a long time for the funeral. She hates being home almost as much as she hates seeing her ex Zuko again. As if the weekend can’t get any worse, she and Zuko get snowed in together, but when she’s stuck with him for days in a row, Katara admits to herself she’s nowhere close to hating him.

It was his first time in the country, so he didn’t know yet if people there enjoyed dancing, but being the adventurous guy that he was, he decided to stay and take a chance.

His voice is rough and loud and would be attractive to any girl but her. The song he chose speaks of a girl who’s shy and needs the writer to rescue her. Based on the slight slur on every second syllable Katara is certain he’s indulged in some alcohol for an additional boost of courage, and she wishes he hadn’t because maybe then he would’ve thought twice about serenading her, doing something she explicitly asked him not to, beneath her window in the middle of fucking winter.
She breaks up with him a week later, encouraged by Suki’s and Toph’s hysterical snorts of laughter at her retelling of the awful, horrible, no-good experience. When he, frustrated and embarrassed, asks her why, she tells him she just got bored of him.
It’s as close to the truth as Katara, kind and giving to her very bones, is willing to tell him. And if it makes Zuko quirk his eyebrow at her, well, all the better.
She bets Zuko wouldn’t do it to her.Or,

“Okay,” she thought out loud. “Sokka, Ty Lee, and... Zuko.”
“Wait, no!” Katara whined. “I don’t wanna kill any of them!”
“I'm pretty sure you gotta kill me,” Sokka slurred. “The other stuff is gross.”
Katara nodded solemnly. “Yeah, I don’t think I could choose to be around your socks,” she agreed, causing the group to burst into another round of laughter.
“Okay, kill Sokka… marry Zuko... and sleep with Zuko.”
“You said Zuko twice,” Ty Lee told her.
“You’re dead too, I only like Zuko,” Katara teased. Ty Lee raised her glass to her, and giggled as Sokka snorted into his drink. “What?” she asked, looking between her brother and Ty Lee.
“Okay but like, can you even imagine momtara and dadko getting it on? Like, that’s my mom and dad,” Sokka snorted. “Gross!”
The group burst into laughter, as Katara narrowed her eyes.
“What the fuck is dadko?” Zuko asked. Aang turned to him, with the decency to look slightly abashed.
“That’s what we called you at Ember Island.” Aang explained. “Because Katara took over the role of team mom, and you were like our dad.”

The pressure on his lower back and legs was becoming too much. Peter swallowed thickly, fighting down panic. He could handle this.
