Peter cocks a brow and asks Tony why he’s here.
And Tony blurts out the first thing that comes to mind.
Peter looks at him confusedly in response and asks, “Why would you want to replace my glasses?”

Tony has almost nothing to look forward to. Nothing to drive him. Nothing to move him. He's stuck in a funk, living day-to-day, the horrors of his past and the realities of his present bearing down on him harder and harder with each passing day; his mind coming up with new ways to belittle him every day.
That is, of course, until he meets a baby-faced kid with a proclivity towards scientific advancement.
And, suddenly, things don't seem too bad anymore. Shame Tony can't really understand why.

Summary
The competition was Pepper’s idea, part of her strategy to appeal to the younger generation while gaining good publicity for the company. All Tony had to do, she’d said, was chose from a group of contestants, mentor one of them for a few months and then announce them as his bright new protege.
Tony thought it was a terrible idea, declaring that he was not fit to be a mentor, and then avoiding the subject all together. That was, until he met Peter, a suspicious boy who was too quiet and too intelligent and who Tony inexplicably starts to care about.
Peter, having unknowingly entered himself into this competition, struggles to scrape enough money together on his intern’s wage for food and rent, while trying his best to forget MJ (and failing miserably).

Summary
Five times Taako manages to get a hug from one of his friends without having to actually admit that he wants a hug, and one time he flat out cops to it.
1. Taako hates being cold and wet. He's both, thanks to an inconvenient river. Magnus is a human furnace, and thus it begins.
2. Waking up feeling inexplicably lonely, Taako tries to goad Magnus into bickering with him in a bid for some company. He gets the company, at least.
3. Angus is almost hit by a rogue cart, Taako deals with being idolized and trusted by a kid he doesn't think he deserves the faith of.
4. During a fight, Taako almost dies, and Merle gets to practice his healing skills.
5. Magnus has a nightmare, Merle nearly loses Magnus after a fight, and Taako finds himself on the other side of things.
+ 1. Merle casts Zone of Truth, Magnus is a good friend, and Taako makes a confession.
