Summary
When a server is created, the code is fragile in the first few months. With a good team of admins, this isn’t a problem, but if a code manipulator wanting to hurt the server comes around, they can do severe damage.
When Season Five begins, the glitches quickly become too much for Xisuma to handle alone, and he’s worried an old enemy might be causing them. But when the hermits start suspecting Evil X is one of their own, nobody knows who to trust.
This is a record of several hermits’ journal entries throughout the beginning of the season, and their quest to discover Evil Xisuma’s true identity.

Etho does something marginally stupid and finds himself changed.
The universe only unravels from there. But one way or another, it will find a way to put itself back together.
Or: Actions, reactions, and the associated consequences regarding a series of unexpected, and highly coincidental interconnect events...
It's almost as though this wasn't pure coincidence.
(I recommend reading this series in order, as the fics build off each other and are all interconnected)

He was forgetting things so easily these days. How long had it been since he’d left Marceline? He hoped she was starting to forget about him in the same way that he was steadily forgetting pieces of his past. The memories floated off like leaves in the breeze… so pretty. Twirling, drifting, spinning. Always forward; always away from him. He chased them sometimes. But they were always too quick to catch. It was a fun game, but it always left him with a dull ache that he couldn’t understand.
