“I was going to bury myself next to you,” Satoru continues. “That was my will. But there wasn’t a body. Again.”
“And you weren’t buried either,” Suguru points out.

Takaba thought it would be funny or something.

Satoru keeps Suguru company through a meeting.

    ~~

“I-” Mr Hoshino stumbles over his words, face red and chubby, unappealing fingers pointing in offense at Satoru, causing Suguru to raise a nonchalant eyebrow. “Do you have to have this display going on-”

Suguru laughs, and it’s scary how he manages to make it sound like a threat with no words, the rest of the patrons shuffling from where their heads are bowed to the ground - not even daring to look at their leader or their leader's trophy.

“Satoru is simply sitting and keeping me company,” Suguru says with a voice warm like honey, making Satoru squirm in his lap as he feels himself get even wetter, the feeling of Suguru’s piercings rubbing against the inside of him making him bite his lip in an effort to keep quiet. “You’re lucky that you even get to see him. Now, what I spend your donations on is simply my business. However, as you know, your business stays blessed and void of interruptions, doesn’t it?”

“Satoru.” The voice says with much more assurance, much more intensity, much more solidness. “Tell me what’s going on.”
He opens his eyes as an automated response. Suguru appears in his vision. Not marred or sliced by Toji, not killed by his own hands, not stitched up and puppeteered.
Suguru looks at him with a concerned expression. Again. Like the first time he time-travelled to 2006, and his Six Eyes tell him that it's the truth, he's back before the mission, again.
    What the fuck.
    What the fuck

Or, Satoru, after being sealed in the Prison Realm, wakes to find himself time-travelled back to 2006, just before the Star Plasma Mission. He's just begun to cope with it, until the mission begins to loop over and over again.

“Yeah! Oh, my name is Gojo Satoru, by the way.” He hides the hurt behind his teeth, his grin wide and friendly. He thought he’d only have to introduce himself once to someone he called his best friend. It’s strange to repeat words from more than a decade ago to the same person. “You can call me Satoru.” He hopes he calls him Satoru.

“I’m Geto,” he says back. You were Suguru to me, Gojo thinks. “Nice to meet you, Satoru.”

“Nice to meet you, too.” He leans against the wall beside him, tries to look nonchalant as he does. “So, do you come here often?”

Geto thinks Gojo is just a lonely guy who wants friends. Gojo just wants to know if he remembers him, even just a little bit.

He doesn't know why he starts texting Suguru's old phone number. Maybe for a sense of normalcy, maybe he is as pathetic as Shoko intimates. It's not like he sends any of them! They just sit in his drafts folder, a digital cemetery of Satoru's thoughts.

(or: another Satoru drunk texting Suguru fic)
