Summary
Upon waking from a coma, Monika is now thrust into a world that she can’t tell if it’s reality and all the events of DDLC was just some sick coma dream, or if this is some weird other game (inspired by For the Longest Time by Social_Coyote) that just made that up as an excuse. Either way, she’s all kinds of fucked up, and now has to navigate this world with either PTSD or brain damage…or maybe both.

Monika is my favorite character from DDLC, she’s so very tragic, and imaging myself in her shoes? Yeah I’d do so much worse. This is kinda about putting into perspective how horrific of a situation she’s in, because her situation is literally my worst fear. Ever. Like I’ve had nightmares of this barrier twice and once I almost because Christian I was so scared.

Is Nami a starved thief with stripped orange fur or a proud navigator with feathery wings? Is Vivi a pirate dancing on the open seas or a princess accompanied by sand? And is it possible they could be both and all?

Yuri would be willing to believe that, willing to dismiss her downward spiral as devotion, her mania as love, were it not for one very, very, very minor detail…
As far as she’s aware, love is amber. So… why does she see so much blue-green?

Summary
Monika is President of the Literature Club. Despite the perfect, pretty, pristine look she puts on for the others, there’s more going on under the hood with her. That tends to happen when your entire world, save one person, isn’t real.
Speaking of that one person, Natsuki had been trying, and succeeding!, to be better with Monika. She’s softer, she’s kinder, she’s more affectionate. It’s everything Monika wanted and more. There’s just one problem…
It’s not enough. Whereas before, Natsuki had taken every opportunity she could to inflict Monika with some form of contact, there was now… nothing. Their touch was limited. And in the place of that contact was an ache, a gnawing hunger set deep in her chest. One that wanted Natsuki to grab her, restrain her, overwhelm her.
…what’s wrong with her?
Or: Monika is dealing with some complicated feelings regarding her relationship with Natsuki. After all, before this, she’d never been touched before.

The way Club President lets her vent might have something to do with it.
Or: Natsuki doesn’t know how to deal with her emotions. Monika doesn’t know how to say ‘no’. Neither of them are very pressed to fix these problems. They have eternity, after all.

Holy fucking shit. This is so good, amazing portayl of abuse I think, I empathize with both, realize they’re both in the wrong and the right. Natsuki is right to feel as she does, but the abuse she inflicts is wrong, Monika’s actions weren’t evil, but weren’t good. Both are influenced by the horrid torture they endure, and so their actions are explained, but are not correct nonetheless. The angst is also really good, God Monika is so pathetic and sad and that’s my favorite type of Monika. Natsuki is also so freaking sad, she’s just so mentally unwell and needs help. They both need help. So bad. Someone help them :(
