    When Eda finds a human having just come through her portal door, that human isn't a fourteen year old just entering high school, but a 10 year old, who's been pushed to her breaking point because everyone thought she was gifted enough to take it.
    Luz's time in the boiling isles changes her. Magic seeps into her, changing her appearance just enough that no-one in the human realm could recognize her. This has unforseen consequences.
    Lilith is annoyed that Eda didn't tell her about her niece and nephew earlier.
    This is an AU of Ito (itonomen)s fic, 'What big claws (to protect you with, my dear)' that splits off right around chapter 13/14. You will not understand this one if you don't read that one first.
