Virgil slowly, carefully takes his hand, having been told a gazillion times by Janus to be polite. “Virgil.” He tries to take his hand back, but Patton doesn’t let go. Virgil’s gut drops, just like Thomas will when he inevitably goes skydiving because Virgil is going to be a dead body, lost in the abyss of the Subconscious, unable to stop him. He rips his hand away and takes a step back, eyes wide as he stares into Patton’s face, waiting for an attack.
