The hospital really is the worst part of it.
Jason doesn’t know where he is when he wakes up. Blinding lights, too many noises, tubes in his nose and throat and wires everywhere. It’s fucking terrifying. Someone says his name, he doesn’t understand anything else. At least not for a while.
The nurses are nice–well, the ones that aren’t strictly business anyways. And Dick is there. The first time Jason sees him is about the second or third time he wakes up–maybe the first really meaningful time. He tries to pull his tracheal tube out, but Dick stops him with a hand on his wrist. Just the sight of him–albeit with bandages and stitches on his forehead–is enough to make Jason burst into tears in sheer relief.Series

Jason practically jumps out of his skin when he hears the horribly familiar voice of Superman. He tries to sit up but that messes with his ribs and he grunts as they send a shock of pain through his side.
“I thought I hallucinated you.” Jason says because that is the first thing that comes to mind.
Superman- Clark Kent- gives him a soft smile, “Good thing I wasn’t, you probably wouldn’t have made it very far.”
Or, Clark Kent finds Jason after the events of Under the Red Hood and takes him home to Kansas where he is immediately adopted.

Summary
After watching the fight between Batman and Clayface, Jason is torn. Bruce has no reason to lie over the fact that he believed Jason knew that Bruce loved him, but Jason didn't know that. It made him wonder if his other family might...care. He finds his way across the bridge to Bludhaven, while also making inroads into Gotham's crime underground as the Red Hood.
In Bludhaven he meets a damaged Supergirl and finds himself accidentally taking on the identity of Flamebird, when Superman comes to see her. And, after that, well, certainly it wouldn't hurt to look out for Nightwing as Flamebird, right?If only a jealous Wally West wasn't SURE that Flamebird was trying to make a play for his man and going to make sure that Flamebird stayed FAR away from Nightwing.

Jason leans back in his chair, and though she knows very well he won’t fall, it still makes a prickle of anxiety hit her. “It sucks, I know,” he says to Bruce, “But honestly I think we need to let it go. We can’t possibly find one little Talon, even if we got Selina and Catlad in on it, too. I mean, who says he’d even stay here in Gotham?”
Bruce, looking utterly exhausted from all the late nights he’s been pulling recently, presses his lips together. “Cobb said he’d never leave Gotham unless he absolutely had to.”
“Oh yes, Cobb,” Damian says with a roll of his eyes. “Why is it again that we’re just blindly going off his word?”
“Because he was very high up in their operations.”
And because you threatened to send him to space, Talia thinks, taking a sip of her tea. Apparently not even he liked the idea of freezing forever.
