Grace is already not doing well thanks to the rationing he and Simon have had to undergo to make sure they make it to Erid alive, and Rocky accidentally falling out of his xenonite tubes and getting exposed to their atmosphere again is not helping.
Thankfully Simon is there.
After saving Rocky's life, Simon also steps up to take care of not only the ship while Rocky is recovering, but Grace himself. Only, Grace is not used to anyone taking care of him, and Simon's gentle hands and steadfast care are doing very strange things to his heart rate.

Steve continues, completely ignoring Eddie, “You’ll wipe your feet. You’re not dragging dirt all over my car. No hitchhikers. No cutesy road games. No smoking in the car. I’m not paying for all the gas.”
“Ass, gas or grass, got it,” Eddie says, like he's taking this very seriously. He is not taking this seriously.

The entire year, Steve had been clueless to the way that Tammy Thompson had been watching him, to how Robin had looked at Tammy Thompson. Steve hadn’t noticed a thing the whole year, because he’d been too busy looking at Eddie.

By anyone’s estimation, Steve shouldn’t have an opinion about Eddie one way or another, apart from the wild hair and crazed laughter which sometimes came from his lunch table in the cafeteria.
But that’s only because nobody really thought all that much about anything that happened before middle school. Before Steve hit puberty, started playing sports, and most importantly, before he started hanging around with Tommy, Carol and the rest of the popular kids.
