Only then does Mydei fully turn to his side to face him, eyeing the way the dim light seems to catch the silver of Phainon’s hair. He reaches over without thinking. “Like this,” he mutters, thumb pressing against Phainon’s bottom lip to force the correct shape. “Your tongue here,” his touch lingers. “And don’t enunciate the last syllable too much.”
Or, when Phainon asked Mydei to teach him the Kremnoan language, he expected refusal. Much to his surprise, Mydei agrees. But as the words come easier, so does everything else Phainon was never supposed to understand.

People keep coming up to Kaveh to congratulate him. Kaveh doesn’t really know why, and he’s a little too scared to ask at this point, so he heads back home, content if not a little bemused.
He is, unfortunately, reminded of it the very next day, when the door slams open and Al-Haitham stalks in. “Mind telling me why everyone was congratulating me today?” he demands. “About your pregnancy?"
Or: Al-Haitham is, without a doubt, the most annoying person Kaveh knows. Maybe the world’s second-most annoying person can help Kaveh figure him out.

Vash’s breathing is an uneven staccato: every rise and fall of his chest, every expansion of his ribs felt intimately beneath him. Leaning forward, he presses a kiss to his eyelid and feels the lashes quiver before he draws away. The press of his thumb between Vash’s lips has his mouth opening further, threatening the drool to escape from its corner.
“Oh,” Knives murmurs, voice low and pleased as he runs the pad of his thumb over the flat tip of an incisor, “You’re still just a baby,” all soft teeth and gentle grooves. Not a hint of anything being pushed out of the way for new growth. Beneath him Vash’s inhale through his nose is harsh as his fingers twitch at his sides. Removing his thumb, he wipes the drool on Vash’s cheek before fitting his hand at the back of his head, thumb swiping at the knob of his spine, and then up to Vash’s neck petting the indent of past punishments for poor behavior before he tilts Vash’s head up.
“You couldn’t even hurt a fly with these, could you - useless little things.”
Knives has a fixation for his little brother's nonexistent fangs.

Summary
Letting himself get cursed may not have been the smartest thing Wei Wuxian has ever done, but he'd argue that it’s completely in character. So he should earn some points for consistency, at the very least. Besides, when the spirit had been explaining it, the curse hadn't sounded too bad. Maybe a little bothersome if he underestimated how many people felt strongly about him, but surely, surely, it wouldn't be enough to hamper him in the long run.
Let it be known that Wei Wuxian is an idiot.
Because, when he emerges from the dilapidated husk of the temple, he can't see anyone
Or: Wei Wuxian gets cursed so he can’t see or feel anyone who feels strongly about him and assume this means that the people he cares about actually hate him.
