Two Time sobbed, shaking their head, leaning closer, desperate to hold onto him. Azure’s fingers curled weakly onto their fingers, holding on with what little strength he had left. And then, in the breath that barely carried beyond the field of flowers.
”I love you… my nightshade. Take care of yourself, alright?”
His hand slipped away, limp and cold, leaving the world unbearably quiet. The night itself seemed to hold its breath. Two Time lowered their head, fingers trembling as they clasped together, pressing their palms tight. Kneeling in the stillness, they began to pray.
