They’re in a foreign city where nobody knows who they are. For the first time in ages, Trent is out having fun with someone he didn’t expect to make a connection with. He can’t even remember the last time he went out, just for the sake of going out to have fun and get completely wasted.

“Why is it forked?” ten-year-old Geralt asks Jaskier with a curious tilt of his head.
Jaskier shrugs. “I thought it looked nice. Why draw one road when you can draw two, right? And besides, that way you can choose which path to take!”
Geralt frowns. “But what if you don’t want to go in the same direction as me?"
“Don’t be silly, I’d follow you anywhere! You’re my best friend!”
“Well, I’d follow you, too.”

Jaskier has a secret. Well, he has two.
The first is that he's in love with Geralt Rivia, captain of the rugby team and his childhood best friend. Only, they're no longer best friends. His second secret is that he writes poems dedicated to Geralt and anonymously posts it at the school's Freedom Wall under the pseudonym of Dandelion. And the thing is, Dandelion has become so popular - more popular than Jaskier - that it's getting more difficult to keep his silence when it's clear that Geralt is starting to develop feelings for the mysterious lovesick poet.
How naïve was Jaskier to think that it would be so easy.

Summary
Jaskier can perfectly comprehend the meaning of home. He’s a poet, a master lyricist. He can take as simple an object as a leaf or a rock and give meaning to it, draw parallels and symbolisms of romance, of heartache and longing, and it would reduce even the most detached person in the room to tears. He’s an accomplished storyteller, after all. It’s what he does.
But in all his years of living, whether as a noble or as a traveling bard, Jaskier never fully grasped what it feels like to be at home. Or what it’s like to have a home. Theoretically, he knows the word itself has several meanings. He knows that. But just because he knows it doesn’t mean he’s experienced it.
Not until he met one Geralt of Rivia.
