They were scrambling, they really were, against the Mind Flayer. The fireworks weren’t doing enough, and El was trying to get Billy out of the Flayer’s grasp. El manages to do it, but she’s about to die.Underneath them, Joyce and Hopper get the gate closed immediately, but a huge shockwave, at least that’s what they think it is, blasts out right after. The world goes white for them all.
When they open their eyes, they aren’t in Hawkins anymore.
Aka, Billy lives, Eddie’s there early, and they get transported to the MCU. Shenanigans ensue.
