She cannot in good conscience do so.

This story revolves mostly around her self isolation in a bunker, hiding from the US government; elements of Portal and Half-Life do not come in until later.
Most of these chapters are short diary/journal entries, but I will include longer chapters (likely around 2k words) that expand on the story in a more objective way.
Because my OC remains unnamed during (the majority? of) this story, I see no problem in reading this as a self-insert or an xreader. Please keep in mind, though, that I will include physical descriptors from time to time.

The overlying theme of this fic is "Change" and whether it be inward change, refusal to change, eventual change for the worse, eventual change for the better, or changing what you thought you knew before. Change will be ever-present even if you can't see it.
