Summary
There is no home for him. Nowhere he belongs besides as another nameless, forgotten corpse. Another dead under a pile of bodies. Liquifying into one another, a funeral pyre where his ashes are indiscernible from the next poor soul’s.
A deep sleep, his mother’s cooking, hanging out in the underground bar, stealing candy and liquor with the other boys from the orphanage.
That’s all he can draw comfort in, all that provides any sense of humanity. That he’s not just a faceless gun.
Levi hears his mom calling for him. He struggles with the trigger as his vision fuzzes around the edges, fading to black. His body goes slack.
Levi jolts awake with a familiar metal pressed to the back of his head.
“Wake up, kid. Be good now, a cute little thing like you makes my trigger finger itchy.”
Levi just wants to die alone, but Pav intervenes.

Summary
"You’ll just hold me down and have your way with me, huh? It doesn't even matter if I say no.” Yuji loosens his grip on Sukuna’s throat, the feelings of hopelessness crawling up his spine.
“If I have to, yeah. Like what you’re about to do to me?” Sukuna says softly, dangerously, his eyes flashing as he looks at Yuji’s grip around his neck, the way Sukuna’s legs are laid over Yuji’s thighs. Yuji’s loss of composure highlighted for the both of them.
“You never have to…” Yuji lets out, feeling insolent, like this qualm is arbitrary. Sukuna scoffs, finding Yuji’s consent trivial. Sukuna believes he knows best.
“I think I do, you need this. You need me.”
Yuji’s breath escapes him in a hiss. The words sting. It’s true, it’s so deeply true. Sukuna will never need Yuji like Yuji needs him.
Yuji's relationship with Sukuna spirals further out of control, his brother acting as a lesson to never be learned.

“Hey, I'm going to make you feel better now, Sukuna.” Yuji says, pausing. When he speaks again his voice is smooth with a forced gentleness. A gentle chiding.
“You really shouldn't have mixed drugs and sake together… Can you sit up for me?”
“No, leave me to fucking die. Wanted you to find my body. Cry over it. I don't care anymore.”
Oh, this again. Yuji thinks snidely. Sukuna’s attempts always go like this. He had been wondering if this was just Sukuna’s normal reckless passive suicidality or a ploy to get back at Yuji for their argument.
For even making an attempt to change Sukuna by loving and living with him. Accepting him no matter how he destroys Yuji’s garden.
Yuji shows Sukuna how alike they really are.

Summary
Daan looks down at the unconscious boy, his mind supplying the image of Pocketcat dragging around a half dead child.
He’s different, he’s not dragging around a half-corpse to validate his ego. His touch is different.
“I’m different, Levi. I’m different, this is different, I’m nothing like him.” He rambles in vain, to an empty room. An empty boy. No one is listening. No one is left.
The gods are absent. Only traces that always slip through his fingers. The questions remain unanswered, as he shouts and begs to a silent, echoing and endless corridor. Only mirroring his voice back to him.
He struggles to hold onto belief, his nails ripping and tearing as doubt creeps in at what he’s doing. This is different. This is different. He’s no longer alone, he has purpose again. No longer separate, as a spectator to life. To those around him.
This boy understands that. The need for closeness that always lies in opposition to an ever present alienation and disgust that can’t be integrated. He’s almost like Elise, understanding solitude all too well. She saw him. Levi sees him and accepts him.
Daan finds his answer in Levi.

Summary
Yuji sighs in relief, or maybe disappointment. He’s not too sure. It all tastes the same in the end. He pulls his own boxer briefs back up and slots behind Sukuna. He kisses the back of the other man’s neck, and tastes his own salty tears.
Yuji snuggles deeper into his bed of lies, into his hollow comfort of an unconscious brother.
Why can’t it be easy?
Why can't they just be like this?
Why can't you love me?
That'll never happen.
Yuji returns Sukuna’s love in the only way his brother can receive.

His hands tremble on their own accord. Fingers suddenly ice-cold, making it difficult to grip the shoebox. The body knows, the wind knows, he knows, and that’s a beautiful mixture. Return to emptiness, it says. Anticipation squeezes his heart. Forces it to pump faster, ba-bump, ba-bump, ba-bump.
The lid slides off, dropping to the ground without a sound. A black gun greets Sukuna, devoid of everything that he’s known. Past, present, and future nonexistent. Just the weapon that screams at him to act. And the more he stares, the less recognizable the gun becomes.
Breathing in and out.
