The thought marinates while he stares at it. Thankfully he can’t see if Charles is online or not, because truly, that would only make it worse—he doesn’t use his phone often, on account of his father, but he does know that that option only unlocks after both have saved the other’s number.
He sinks a little into the pile of fabric below him, cold all of a sudden. Looks at the time on top of the screen, glances back down, rubs his hands together to get some feeling into his freezing fingers, contemplates some more.
“Fuck. I’m pathetic.”
He clicks send.

Satoru eagerly sauntered over to Shoko’s desk and handed her the tiny numbered rectangle paper. She eyed it for a moment before deciding she had no clue what was going on.
She looked up at Satoru from her place at the desk. “What is this? Did you finally get a boyfriend, or-?”
“I ran into Suguru yesterday.”
“Holy shit.”
“He wants to meet to catch up.”
“Holy shit.”
