The patronizing honorific stops him in his tracks. “I’m sorry, did you just call me Kiryu-chan?”
“Ah. You’re what, twenty-eight, twenty-nine?”
“Thirty-seven. Also, I’m a customer.” And a Tojo Clan patriarch, he thinks, but doesn’t say.
She whistles, gives him a slow look up and down. “Damn, not bad. I’m still older and badder than ya though, so Kiryu-chan it is. As for being a customer, this one’s on me.”
