Summary
Wylan can't help but think that a mausoleum becoming the crew's safehouse feels like a perfect final flourish to round off the whole comedy of errors that his life has become. The last elegant wave of a conductor’s baton, drawing the orchestra together into a clear, resounding resolution: Wylan, sitting cold and pale and invisible among the dead, where no one will ever go looking for him.
The punchline is that Wylan is very much alive. He just feels like a ghost of himself. Over the last four months, he’s learned that the two can be, and frequently are, co-occurring truths.
