Summary

Alex is unsure how to handle himself now he's... something else. 'Vampire' is perhaps the best word for it, however he does not like how that makes him sound like some fairy-tale creature. Alex's struggles in coming to terms with this new life are certainly not helped by the new student, Nigel, who has been dumped into his room and who seems to have an unexplainable fascination with the workings of his now monstrous form.

Summary
The blood rushes through his ears and drowns out all other noise as he goes still. Intentionally, he reaches deep within himself, down to the very essence of what makes him the person he is, and twists it, knows it. It hurts; of course it does. But in the end, he opens his eyes again and he knows that he has to go on.
