Summary
The apartment was smaller than the word apartment deserved.
Calling it a box would have been more honest. Four walls, a ceiling low enough that Peter felt like he’d bang his head trying to stand up from unpacking, and a window that technically opened but jammed half the time. The place smelled faintly of mildew, maybe because of the carpet - or maybe because this whole building had given up on life a few decades ago and was just waiting for someone merciful to bulldoze it.
He told himself it was fine. He told himself worse things had happened. Which, technically, was true.
That didn’t make him feel any better.

But when a slave camp is liberated by the Avengers, and Peter is discovered to be the only surviving victim, Tony vows to do everything he can to make sure his kid is okay, and that he is never taken again.*this is very fluff heavy, but in later chapters there is some real plot. but still, very fluffy.

The hands leave him in an instant. Peter sags in relief, his danger sense slowly but surely fading away. His saviour comes into focus, and Peter has to hold back a groan when he sees who it is.
“What the hell is going on here?” Stark demands. “Does somebody wanna explain why they’ve got my foster kid pressed up against the wall like he’s some kind of criminal?”
“Your- your foster kid?”
Stark throws his hands up in the air with exasperation. “Yes, my foster kid. Lordy, do you two go outside? Or better yet, do you even work here? How have you not heard about this?”
