Lucas sighs. “Look, all you have to do is look at him like you really like him.”
Will glances over at Mike. He's smiling, elbowing Dustin as he reenacts some inside joke. Mike raises his eyebrows like there’s some unspoken, second joke, and Dustin erupts in laughter. Mike barely holds out for a second before he joins, collapsing forward, his hair falling over his forehead as his nose scrunches in laughter. It’s such a bright scene that the side of Will’s mouth curls up on its own, and he watches Mike brush his hair back into place.
“Yeah,” Lucas says suddenly, with an unreadable expression. “Like that.”

Summary
Technically, he doesn’t know this is Mike’s daughter, because she hasn’t even spoken yet. Also because the last time he saw her she was a two-year-old in a picture Mike had in his wallet. So he has an obligation to act normal, because even if it is her, she’s obviously not here to sell Girl Scout cookies if her panicked expression is anything to go by.
Or: Mike has been avoiding Will’s calls for fifteen years. When his daughter shows up at Will’s apartment with a box full of letters, Will finds out why. -

Concerned brown eyes framed by pale yellow eyelashes stare down at Rarity as the woman’s lips curve in a friendly smile. Her arms stretch the sleeves of her gold uniform top under a vest that does nothing to disguise the wide shape of her shoulders and the slim waist encircled by a leather belt. One tan hand rests softly against Rarity’s car. A little less exhausted, Rarity probably wouldn’t have let her eyes roam down the woman’s body, likely looking like a damn starving wolf, until the gleam of a sheriff badge caught her eye.
“You're Sheriff Jack?” she asks incredulously.
“Uh,” says the sheriff, laughing politely. “Applejack, actually.”
Oh, thinks Rarity. And then: fuck.
Or, Rarity is down bad for Sheriff!Applejack and apparently arresting someone for speeding can get really indecent, really fast.

Will dropped his head into his hands. “Mike, oh my god—”
Paladin Mike’s jaw tightened. “I do not own him,” he said immediately. “He is—” He stopped, swallowing. His eyes went back to Will softening, and that softness made Mike hate him even more. He could recognize the look, and saw it mirrored in his own eyes countless times.

“He is the Light. By your oath, I am bound to him. My liege.” He bowed his head slightly toward Will, his mouth wrapped around the word like it was a prayer. “My cleric.” He said after, softer.
“Oh my god.” Will flushed, impossibly. “That is crazy. He is actually crazy."
Max, who had been standing with her arms crossed behind them, muttered, “Jesus Christ,” under her breath.
Mike Wheeler is going to explode, because there is an alternate, armoured version of him, following Will Byers around like he belonged to him.

Will pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance, already feeling a headache beginning to form in his temples. "I’m kind of in the middle of a lecture here, can this wait?”
“I’m afraid it can’t. We need your assistance urgently.”
“And why do you need me?” Will was unable to suppress the bitterness in his tone, “You’ve got plenty of experts and doctors on your staff. I’m just a grad student, and I’m halfway across the country. What could I possibly do that no one else could?”
Dr. Owens cleared his throat on the other end of the line, “You’re the only one who’s been there and made it out alive. Honestly, we could use your expertise. We’ve caught a specimen. A live one. And you’re definitely going to want to see this.”

Summary
“Oh, come on,” Will says, struggling to keep his voice neutral in a different way. His mouth is dry, and he hates Mike for it even more. “Is this what it’s going to be like this summer?”
Mike looks back at him, considering, lips pursed in an effort to shut down the smirk that Will knows is fighting to break free. Will doesn’t dare to let his gaze catch there, focusing instead on holding Mike’s stare, because this, too, is a game.
Five years into a rivalry with bittersweet origins, the only thing Mike and Will want is to beat each other at this summer’s camp counselor competition. But being back at camp is dredging up old memories, and as Mike and Will lose momentum and gain something else entirely, it becomes increasingly clear that one summer can change everything.

“Looks like I bit you.” Will tilts his head to get a better look. All Mike can do is stare at him. His fluffy hair at the front, clumped pieces at the back where he’d slid his fingers in a mere few minutes before. His pretty green eyes that look hazel or even brown in this light, the dark circles he gets when he drinks framing them like intricate paintings. A satisfied, bloody smile.
Mike isn’t satisfied. He swallows thickly, choking down the words 'don’t you want more?'
Or: Will dresses as a vampire for a college halloween party, but Mike thinks his costume isn’t bloody enough. Will lets him fix it. Mike goes into a crisis.
