Summary
Someone moves her over to the couch, makes her sit down on it. Shiv cries out as the pain becomes blinding for a moment, then settles down— She feels as though she could bite someone’s head off, if only to make them feel what she’s feeling. She blinks once, twice, swipes a hand across her face, surely ruining her makeup, and then Kendall is standing in front of her, Stewy’s hand on his shoulder, their faces stony, grave, grieving, obviously. This fucking snitch, getting her big brother involved. She ignores the relief the thought brings her, the not being alone right now, because she can’t think.
“I’m—” She cries out, holds a hand to her stomach and feels cold sweat run down her spine. Now you’ve done it, Siobhan, you’ve fucked it, you gave yourself away.

“Wait,” Veronica croaks, clearing her throat when it earns her a raised eyebrow from the man. She exchanges another stunned look with Arcade, who then rubs the bridge of his nose between pinched fingers, stress coming off him in waves. “Are we talking about a white guy, kind of short, wears a red beret, sunglasses he never takes off?”
The King stares at her and then huffs. “Uh, yeah. You know the guy, then, I take it?” He asks, the surprise evident in his voice.
“Sadly, we do, yes,” Arcade interjects, having recovered from his brief meltdown. Veronica’s mouth twists in a smile despite herself. “If he— When he comes back, could you please send him to our Fort?”
The King frowns. “Will do, bud. Is he going to be a problem?”
She reluctantly shrugs, and Arcade acknowledges it with a slow nod. He turns to The King, grimacing. “No, I don’t think so. Not yet, at least. We know him. Knew him. Whatever.”

Before he gets the opportunity to do something very noble and stupid, Veronica squeezes his arm and leans into his space to whisper, “Is this the guy?” At his nod, she adds, “Do you think I could go get my power fist back? I kind of want to smash his teeth into his mouth.”
God, what he’d give to do that very same thing. “I have a feeling it wouldn’t exactly work out, with all the surveillance.”

Summary
He hadn’t heard Boone’s approach, so he’s startled when he yanks Six back by her shoulder, and it’s not just him, because having been caught off-guard, Six stumbles and falls on the sand with a yelp. Her robot beeps and comes to her aid, but Boone doesn’t pay them any mind, instead staring at Arcade with his nostrils flared.
“What the fuck did you just say?” he says, voice strained and quiet.
“What?” Arcade looks between him and Six, hands coming up in front of him. “Look, I didn’t–”
Boone’s jaw tenses, and his rifle shifts to point halfway up, a movement away from aiming. Arcade’s spine straightens as a response. He can only recall being as tense as he is now a couple of times, and one of those memorable occasions had found him frozen in place while holding eye contact with a Cazador.
“Why do you know Latin,” Boone grinds out, less of a question and more of a demand.

Summary
The realization hits him hard enough to leave him dizzy, or maybe it’s that he’s still breathless from the run. In any case, as he looks at the device in front of Six, he only manages to muster up a useless, “That’s a bomb.”
“Yeah,” she replies, scratching her head. “Captain Curtis was talking about it when we got into the tower. Didn’t you catch that?” She pats ED-E’s hull. “Thanks, pal.”
With that little bit of explanation, Six starts typing on the keyboard, with no regard to Boone’s sanity since he’s about to lose his fucking mind. They’re going to die. He’s sure of it. Six keeps looking at the piece of paper clutched in her left hand, the one that will not stop shaking, and Boone’s never been more certain–
The bomb beeps one last time, and they don’t die.
