Summary
Shane loses his game to a blizzard and his boyfriend to a bad hit, all in the same night.
Snowed in with his parents in Montreal, he watches Ilya get stretchered off on live TV, and discovers that when your relationship is a secret, no one at the hospital thinks to call you.
In Ottawa, Ilya wakes up with broken bones, a serious concussion, and a neatly edited brain. The months where he was lonely and depressed and fighting with Shane? Gone. He’s mentally living in the soft, hopeful beginning of things—and the more everyone tiptoes around him, the more wrong it feels.
The Centaurs step up. The Hollanders dig in. Shane tries to convince himself that “temporary amnesia” is not the same thing as losing him.
They’re still together. They’re technically fine.

Anyway, Shane didn't remember exactly what was in the folder ... But he knew they were all good shots of him.
He hastily clicked open the folder, his eyes barely glancing through the dozen or so shots there, vaguely registering a picture with a sunset background from his condo balcony, something of him laughing, a picture of him working at his laptop with his glasses on...
The director called him again, and he shook his head, the photos blurring. Whatever. It would have to do.
He clicked "select all," then the messages icon, then Rozanov's name. Hit send.

Ilya Rozanov's in a little bit of a rut; juggling culinary school and his job at the pizza place leave him very little free time and excitement. He begins to get intrigued, however, when a strange order gets called into the pizza shop every Friday. Even more intriguing? The order is private with no name attached to it. As you might guess, the order belongs to none other than star Detroit Red Wings center Shane Hollander. And when they meet, sparks fly.
So does a glass of ginger ale. And so does Ilya.
It's not the prettiest start to a relationship. But not everything worthwhile is easy. Maybe Ilya can show Shane there's more to life than ordering the same weird pizza every week. And maybe Shane can show Ilya a thing or two...too.

Ilya gets off his bike and wraps his sweaty arms around Shane’s sweaty shoulders, presses their sweaty heads together and holds him tight. “Nooo, Hollander, you cannot leave me. Who will put Barrett and Marly in time out when they fuck up too many shots in a row?”
“I’m sure Bood will do it. He loves bossing people around.”
Bood stands up straight and salutes his captains. “I take the title with great honor. Enjoy the Ravens, Hollander—your legacy of being a chaste Victorian debutante will be remembered fondly but not carried on.”
This snaps that last thread of Shane’s refined patience. “I can pick up girls! I have no problem getting numbers and calling them and talking!”
Hazy smirks. “Innocent until proven guilty.”
“I can pick people up,” Shane says again, moving off his bike and out of Ilya’s sweaty embrace. “And I don’t have to do it by concocting schemes or stripping on top of the LAX bros’ coffee table.”
Or, after some team chirping at Shane's expense, Ilya accidentally interrupts a few of his potential dating prospects and then keeps on doing it less than accidentally
