This is a story about guilt, about legacy, and about love. About trans women getting to have the kinds of fantasies normally denied to us, and ultimately, surpassing the limits placed upon us by the societies that abuse us.

When Lynn’s ship encounters the Affini, the two are fated to meet, and Lynn is thrust into a world beyond her imagination, full of wonder. In time she meets a kind, if predatory, older fox-like woman from another domesticated species, and the three are destined to entwine.

After years of systematic, Kafkaesque denial of the hormones that Jolene desperately needs to be herself, the presence of an affini ambassador in and around her University opens a new door. The towering plant has been offering xenodrugs for party purposes, likely as a way to find collaborators in the crumbling regime. With no particular loyalties in either direction, Jolene makes a deal in exchange for Class-G's to enact the changes that her own systems will not.
Spiru Gaba, Sixth Bloom, is not among the most honest of Affini to make that deal with, but maybe she'll manage.
