“Stop talkin’,” Techno grunted, rubbing the bridge of his nose.
They’d finally stopped crying, now staring at him fearfully. Or, the sparrow looked scared—the magpie just glared at him, a surprising amount of stubbornness on his tear-stained face, even as his brother tried to get in front of him, shield him as if that would do anything at all.
Techno had expected more from the sons of the infamous Angel of Death. For all the noise they made, their size seemed unbecoming.
They were tiny.

Or, Technoblade’s a feared mercenary, not a babysitter, but his latest job to kidnap the Angel of Death's kids, Tommy and Wilbur, aims to prove him wrong. It’s a two week trip back to his employer, and worse than avoiding a Phil that is hellbent on revenge, he’s got to avoid getting attached to the little fledglings.

Summary
Techno likes farming. It’s nice to work with his hands, to nurture a plant from new growth to maturity and then start the cycle anew. And it’s the least he can do to repay a community that was gracious enough to welcome him, despite being a human. Even now, years after arriving in Origins, he still feels the need to pay them back for accepting him.

Honestly, if Wilbur wasn’t enjoying the sun he would’ve just shoved the little lion into the river and make him go away, but he was enjoying the sun so he tolerated the lion's presence for now.
“Tommy, what did we say?” Someone shouted from across the river. They weren’t British like the first two had been so this was probably the tiger speaking, not the other lion.
The little lion gave no response so he assumed that he was staying in the lion form and was going to keep bothering him. The little lion batted his ear, and that earned the lion an ear flick from him and words of warning from across the river. Then the little lion did it again and Wilbur reached out and shoved him off the rock, sending him tumbling into the river. Which he was not happy about based on the yowl.

Or: Wilbur has been cursed to live the rest of his life out as a bear with no way to break the curse. Insert these random ass lions and tigers that shouldn't be there that decided they're gonna become best friends with him.

Summary
In all the time that he’d spent studying to be the best medic he could for his crew, Wilbur never thought that he’d come across a species quite like humans. They took what he knew about medicine and medical care and made it a whole lot stranger.
After all, when they were injured, they’d just keep bleeding, like their bodies weren’t able to keep the blood inside. Didn’t they have anything to quickly clot their blood and seal the wound shut? Apparently not. Their blood clotted, but so much slower than everyone else Wilbur had ever met, making it far more likely for them to bleed out after some kind of battle.
Which, unfortunately, his human crewmate always seemed to get involved in.

Wilbur misunderstands what is and is not an injury for humans as he tried to learn more about his new crewmate. As it turned out, there's a lot more than blood that's strange about humans. All Wilbur wanted was to keep his crew safe, but humans seem to always confound him. Techno, on the other hand, doesn't understand why his alien crewmates are so concerned for his health when he's perfectly fine.
