They press together a final time, and then Charlotte peels her away, stepping through the doorway and into the hall.
The feeling of victory, smug satisfaction swelling in Sabine and her face splits into a wolfish grin. Charlotte takes off her apron and tosses it into the apartment before turning, brushing past Sabine without so much as a word.
Sabine narrows her eyes. "Something's burning," she warns, and then turns to follow her Charlotte, eager for what comes next.
