If you asked Clover Ebi what he thought of Qrow Branwen the first time they met, he could honestly answer that he hadn’t been sure what to think.
Of the two Huntsmen arriving to his outpost out of the darkness and the snow it was Qrow’s partner, Huntress Rose, who had commanded attention. And yet, Clover had found his focus drawn to the man, the children clutching his hand and his cape, the bloody scratches on his arm, the soft smile as he encouraged the children to let the medics see to their health.
The second time they met was almost a year later...

Summary
Beacon is gone, the CCT is down, and all Qrow wants to do is go home to Atlas and see for himself that Clover is ok, that the world isn't falling apart quite as badly as it feels. Dear gods, Clover probably doesn't even know if he's alive.
He can't.
He has a duty to Remnant, and that duty takes him to Haven, not to Atlas.
Cross-continental communication is down, but post is still moving letters across the globe. So Qrow begins to write.

Summary
It had been months since Beacon fell, months since they lost the CCT, since the world went sideways. Months since life pulled them apart. Clover understood why Qrow couldn't just come home, that there were bigger things at stake, but gods he longed for his beloved to come home.
Months pass, the general reads them in on Salem, letters trickle in from Qrow as he crosses Anima; and Clover's heart aches.
