That was a given.
He has always been aware of how he is different and he knows this life they lived is likely responsible for creating some odd habits, unique routines, and some strange…preferences.
If asked, Sam wouldn't be able to tell you the first time he was exposed to crime scene photos of dead victims, dismembered bodies, blood, bone and organs in full view. Or when the overwhelming smell of blood, and decay was introduced to Sam after it was brought into whatever home they had at the time by John. And after a while, that bitter iron smell became less sickening and instead a scent that was comforting. Sure, it still curled his nose but it meant that dad was home and safe, that his family was once again together.

Basically Mystery Spot with some creative liberties taken. Sam has a necro fetish, Dean is into it. Then Dean sells his soul and Sam struggles to enjoy their roleplay until they go to Broward County, Florida to investigate the Mystery Spot.
