Pretty much the same thing I'm doing with my other fan fiction. While it is mostly based on the comics, this is a different universe that will be fleshed out as more chapters are added. This will tell the story of a completely custom universe which reworks elements from all three timelines and combines them into one, along with plenty of changes.

Bi-Han speaks through music better than through words. It's the only place where his feelings make sense — even as Tomas enters the Lin Kuei and disrupts the fragile harmony in his life. Tundra stared at him, long, hard and silent. It was actually incredibly unnerving. Hanzo was used to seeing Tundra throwing tantrums, and generally going down kicking and screaming. He was one of those people who came off far more threatening when they were silent.
“You realise he’s testing us both, right?” Tundra finally questioned, before striding down the corridor without explaining what the hell he meant.

What was wrong with him? His brother was dead, and here he was wailing like a child about broken promises. Like Bi-Han purposefully gone and got himself killed to spite Kuai Liang.

When Tomas’s Enenra powers awaken in his teens, they bring whispers, visions and states he cannot explain or control. Everyone calls it possession, and Tomas himself feels a demon coiling within him.
Kuai Liang stays close, trying to anchor him with quiet touches and gentle words, loving him with a devotion that only deepens as Tomas begins to slip further away. Their Father tries to find the solution to ensure safety of the clan and all of his sons.
But to Bi-Han Tomas is just a boy damaged by horrible trauma. Where others see a curse, he sees a diagnosis and tries his best to get his brother a proper treatment.

I'm going off the ideas from Mortal Kombat 1 while also changing and adding stuff when I don't like certain things.
Also this started before Khaos Reigns so let's see what changes after that.

In youth when the blue eyed child was taken away from the warmth of his mother's arms and into the cold, cruel embrace of the Lin Kuei order, Kuai Liang found himself lost without guidance nor direction. He knew nothing of the world.
At least, he had a brother.
Growing up to be heartless, being taught to be bitter, with the only one he cared about in the world was his only family, Bi-Han wondered if he would ever be free from this confinement he called home.
So young and lacking the voice to dissent, Bi-Han had to obey the rules of Lin Kuei and watched silently as Kuai Liang slowly followed in his bloodstained footsteps.
Time went on... Paths diverted, strangers were met, blood was lost, loves were found.
Was there a way out? A way they didn't have to be smeared in sins and be together as brothers? Were their bonds destined to be severed?May fate tell.

This fic was my first proper passion project, but my interests have changed, maybe one day I'll come back to it.
Kuai Liang is my Mortal Kombat character, despite my username used to be. As a newer fan who only got to experience his NRS depiction, I was disappointed with the direction they went with him, how bad writing turned him into a magnet for misery who just turns his back on his closest friends (Smoke and Cyrax in particular) as well as not enjoying the NRS the story in general. So I'm making this fic to retell his story through how I would have made MK9 through 11. Expect moderate head canon and lots of canon divergence.
