Karkat practically flies up the stairs to the meteor’s roof. He can’t hear anything over his own breathing, but he feels the snapping of blood from blood.
He feels when things are wrong. And oh fuck, are they ever wrong. He feels like he’s going to throw up, but he just forces himself to fall up the steps even faster. Don’t be late again. Don’t fucking do that, Vantas.
He stumbles out, heaving in breaths as he takes in the scene, brain working furiously to compensate for the terror thrumming in his veins and the pounding of his head.

Eridan Ampora is one of the few refugees from the ashes of the Alternian Empire. They all sit aboard a hijacked warship renamed The Signless, bred to house about 1200 something trolls but only carrying a skeleton crew of about 500. The only crew the Signless has ever had in the last dozen sweeps has been 440 wrigglers who hadn’t been picked up to go off world yet; the remaining 60 had been planetside retirees. Half of them hadn’t even reached their maturation ceremony yet.
Eridan hadn’t. Him and his other broodmates had been only 8 sweeps at the time.

i don't know how to describe the concept of this fic other than a erisol almost-pacific-rim au??? Eridan is the navigator for a huge refugee ship, Sollux is one of the best pilots. They can't stand each other and shenanigans ensue.

His Land is— was?— so hot that, for the longest while, they— his corpses, he means– well, the corpses in general— wouldn't go cold. It was weird, holding something soft and warm and so like him and so, so dead. Dave used to like dead things. Watching them decompose, seeing them break down into their barest components.
Because your aspect is Time, he thinks, and then immediately feels sickened by the thought.
Dave wants to fix things. There are things that eat at him, day in and day out, but he'll never act on it because he doesn't act on shit until someone else asks him to. Then someone does, and things go very, very wrong from there.
But Dave's got it all figured out, so there's no need to worry! He and his new pals will take care of it.

They may end up resolving more than just Dave's anxiety and paranoia, however.
The unspoken tension between them has been simmering for some time, and has been pointed out by others on the meteor repeatedly. They've both pondered it long enough to face it.
