Will you bear the weight of this burden for your kin? It is clear to me that they need you just as much as we need them.”
“It’s not a burden. Not if it’s you. Not if it’s this team.” Burden felt too strong of a word. Too brutal for what was actually going to be taking place. Optimus was a pillar of strength and comfort and heart, the glue that kept these wandering souls together. To call befriending him as something so vile felt intrinsically wrong and you weren’t going to stand for it.
If you were going to do this, you were going to do it right. No half-assing anything, fear and terror be damned. No matter what it was, you were willing to find a way to help end this conflict.

Starscream had lost a lot before the war. Sunbeam. His sparkling. Starscream had long since lost hope that his sparkling was alive. Sunbeam had died in the ruins of Vos, and Starscream would never see him.
B-127 had been born before the war. He did not have anything left to lose by the time war broke out. Raised underground in energon mines, B-127 had not even gotten to grow into his true colors. Optimus Prime has saved him from the mines; there was never a need to look back.

Alexandria, the daughter of General Bryce, was beside herself when the Autobots requested her to be their Ambassador. Hope had come from the stars to heal the broken world, and she could not be more eager to help in saving mankind.
But after months learning and bonding with these extraterrestrials, she has begun to realize something is very, very wrong. The Autobots are kind, but almost too kind. Too indulgent. And too dismissive of humans. And they are interfering with her communications to the outside world.
For her own safety, she flees the Autobot base before the situation escalates.

Embittered and defiant, Megatron’s campaign to crush the corrupt Senate isolates him from his friends and his morals, his noble Ascenticon uprising descending into Decepticon violence, control wrested under the erratic leadership of his lover and second-in-command Starscream, apparently insane with grief and endlessly ambitious. The Functionists propose an even greater threat, condemning their ally Sentinel whose elevated social status hangs in the balance with those he loves impeding his success, yet he must succeed, he cannot afford failure, for he would lose everything he has worked for. Inexperienced Autobots unite under the shy and gentle Orion Pax, expecting to be heroes, yet their intervention prolongs the conflict and costs lives, ruining others. After millions of years of war, Megatron’s insane plot is discovered and drives a reconfigured Optimus Prime in a desperate bid to save his people, yet the Thirteenth Prime reincarnate condemns Cybertron to a slow demise. Politics and faith are put to the test as soldiers and civilians love and lose and loathe each other, all-knowing old mechs in positions of power deciding the war-torn future of their surviving heirs in prophecy, the Prime a mere puppet of fate.

As the pain tore through Bumblebee's frame, his optics were glimmering as he looked towards the black and purple mech with a blade through his gut. The ringing in his audials almost drowned out the anguished scream coming from the warlord, Optimus going completely silent, as Bumblebee turned his head.
The searing stinging through Soundwave's frame intensified, the blade had cut clean through his skin and stomach. He could care less about the prime's look of denial, but the pain only got worse when, he heard Megatron scream in anguish for him.
"Oh Captain, My Captain". "Soundwave, Inferior. Megatron...Superior..."
And at that moment, when the scouts lay completely motionless, The Prime and The Warlord realize they should put aside their differences, once, and for all.

Summary
The war is over for the Autobots, and even though Starscream and Shockwave are still hiding somewhere on the planet, it's time to have a chance at respite. They throw a party to celebrate the end of the war and enjoy their peace at last!
Except, their youngest member Smokescreen feels horribly out of place. Brought online during the war, he's never known peace, and doesn't feel that the war is really over. He's unable to handle the party and heads off for a drive to clear his head, his mind saddled with guilt over feeling sad, wanting to grieve, and most importantly he can't stop thinking about Optimus' words about the Matrix.
