Penny narrowed her eyes. “You’re just being difficult!” She adjusted the straps on her back. “Just try to settle down! It’s not going to be that bad!”
“Yes it is!” Rudy hated himself for being this way. He didn’t want to be acting like this. It just wasn’t like him. Yet his emotions were making him get carried away. “I know I promised I’d go with you on this camping trip, but....your mother...”
Penny’s frown deeped a little before she let out an exasperated sigh. “My mom has no problem with you, Rudy. You need to relax.”
