The cure, according to Soobin's doctor, is to let his body ride out a natural heat at least twice a year. The problem, according to Soobin, is that he hasn't ridden out a natural heat since he presented, and that he's scared shitless to do it. The pack assures him that they have it covered.

The cold seeped into his bones, a numbing embrace, as darkness claimed him. He lay motionless, a small, vulnerable figure against the vast landscape.
(Consumed by love and then shattered by betrayal from two people he cherished, Kai now faces an impossible choice. Can he reconcile with the people who wronged him, grappling with their past mistakes and present affections? Now he must confront his complicated feelings and question his morality.)

Every time he thought about confessing about his vampirism, Soobin remembered Beomgyu’s voice. They were talking in a circle when they were all very young and immature and playing would you rather. They had all been human at the time, and supernatural people were in the news as an elf idol had debuted around that time. Soobin remembers the article being more about a dating rumor she had before debuting, and because of that, the question asked was “Would you date someone who had supernatural traits?”. Soobin felt weird about how they had talked about it now, of course, but they had all been so young and frankly, ignorant about it at the time. He doesn’t remember the whole conversation, but the night he had been turned, he immediately remembered a comment Beomgyu had thrown out in the mix.
“I’d try anything, but I’d have a hard time adjusting to something like a vampire or anything that didn’t eat human food and had to rely on… well… me? It would be a lot of responsibility to be someone’s food source, so I’d have to really like them in that case."
