Shouto Todoroki is addicted to drugs, much to his dismissal. He is addicted to that buzz he gets, that constant gratification that keeps him from feeling those horrible things and feeling anything at all. Slowly, he declined without realizing it, and the only people who did were his friends and coworkers.
After an altercation at a bar, Bakugou picks him up and manages to get the truth out of him- Shouto is an addict, and he needs help.

Summary
Growing warmer is usually a good thing, though it only appears to accompany Shoto’s sweet smiles and or positive reactions. Whenever they would get in bed together, Izuku would no longer need a blanket, as Shoto’s body heat would be just enough to warm him up through the cold nights. It, however, takes form in a more uncomfortable, sweltering heat, and usually when Shoto appears stressed, or any not-too-good reason as to why his body heat would rise up all of a sudden.
And also given the nonstop raining these days, where heroes don’t exactly take breaks often, it’s become a terrible experience for those with temperature quirks such as Shoto’s, someone who never gives up and would push through any obstacle no matter what. Even Shoto, the number two and one of the greatest heroes of the country, is not immune to sickness.

Shouto grips onto the toilet seat with clenched white knuckles. The sudden release has him choking, gasping for air. The bitter taste of bile lingers on his tongue, burning, a reminder of his sour failure—weakness.
His fingers shake and tremble uncontrollably as he brushes away damp strands of hair that stick to his forehead. His stomach aches, punishingly. The acidic sting sears his throat.

The cold is good. Like the fog. It keeps him safe and alert and numb so he doesn’t have to feel. He just drifts. Alone in the dark. And it’s good because nothing can touch him there. Nothing at all.
Shouto drifts, drowning in fears of the past while Katsuki's all but forgotten what it means to trust. They're a little messed up, but maybe that's okay. Maybe they can be a little messed up together.
