“Then, why…?” Eddie trailed off, and watched as Richie seemed to debate with himself on what to say next. His gaze flicked back and forth between Eddie’s eyes and he bit his lip. He squeezed Eddie’s hands before he spoke.
“You got hurt, Eds,” Richie finally said, and his voice cracked on Eddie’s name. Eddie’s breathing began to pick up again as Richie spoke. “It was bad. But you’re okay now, I promise. You just have to remember, now.”
