This fanfiction is based primarily on the 2024 movie adaptation of ‘The Wild Robot,’ and the writing assumes that you’ve seen the movie and have a baseline understanding of the plot and characters, so time isn’t wasted describing known characters and plot events. The plot begins after the canon of the movie. There are some elements pulled from the books as well, but those are explained and you do not need to have read the books to understand what’s going on (the movie is canon, the books are not). Due to guidance from more experienced users, I have adjusted the tags and rating to reflect the CURRENT content, but I warn readers that there WILL be detailed explicit content in later chapters, though it is not the main event by any means.

Very capable in their own regards, but both quietly admiring the other's strengths, leads Rachel and König to slowly embrace their attraction towards one another. When the darkness of human nature rears its ugly head, both must choose loyalty in hopes it will restore justice and bring them back together.
This fanwork takes place between MW3 and MW4 (though if you choose to ignore MW3, it can take place after MW2). I took some time away to reevaluate the story because my outline was so long, it would have taken 50 chapters to complete this whole thing. Since the last month I posted, I've edited and come up with a tighter and more congruous storyline. Don't worry though, the chapters that are getting taken down will return in edited forms later on! :)
IMPORTANT: Chapters will be posted out of order on purpose, starting with Prologue, Chapter 1-23, then an epilogue. The title will tell you the chapter number.

Honami can’t help but mirror her expression, a bit. She can’t smile as big, or as wide, or as brightly as Ichika so often does, but it does feel a little satisfying, seeing her like this. This really was the right way to thank her.
