Cam planted her hands on the ground, pushing herself up to her feet. In doing so, a thick goop covered her palms. She gagged, wiping them on her pants.
She surveyed her surroundings. The frigid air made the darkness all the more unwelcoming. She could feel goosebumps sprouting all over her arms and legs.
Cam wasn't afraid of the dark. She was afraid of hypothermia, starvation, and dehydration.The gloom of the sky cast a shadow over the forest, making it hard to discern anything. Red lightning flashed across the sky, followed by a loud clap of thunder.
All Cam wanted to do was survive high school. Not get roped into interdimensional monster-killing. Unfortunately for her, luck wasn't on her side when one of her best friends goes missing the day after another disappearance.

Cam finds out about a strange alternate dimension whilst attempting to find her missing friend.
A 3rd person version of my reader/oc insert fic (with minor edits), as I understand not everyone likes reading in 1st person and vice versa.

How did I end up in this position? I was just a college student, but suddenly thrown into a universe where monsters exist, and a girl with the ability to move things with her mind is a normal occurrence to this group of teenagers. Now I have this weight of responsibility to change things that I know will come to fruition if nothing is done.
