Summary
This is the Fallout 4 you know, but altered in subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) ways. It is also the story of Sim Settlements 2 and Jake Evans. I've worked on this story for about three years now and have molded and refined it several times. What you see here is a complete reworking of the original. It's still going to need edits. It's still never going to be "right" in its word choices, etc., but the heart of it still beats, and the characters still shine. There was just too much I no longer loved about the original and knew it was time to clean it up.
This story, like many FO4 fanfics are to their respective authors, is my baby, dear to me in more ways than I can express. No, it's not going to appeal to people who don't know the game (and further, the mod). No, it probably won't be easy to understand for people who don't know the lore, the humor, the altered-universe, the pain and beauty of it all. But I've tried adding to it to make it "wider audience" appropriate and later realized that it felt wrong to me. This is, and will always be, my puny little brain's version of the game I love and how I envision it and the characters that roam the wasteland of my mind.
