He delighted in polished brass and warm wood, crisp tablecloths and heavy silverware, waiters in smart starched uniforms laying fussy little cakes out with silver tongs as the miles disappeared beneath the train’s wheels. Crowley, for his part, liked watching Aziraphale relish the cucumber sandwiches and goose liver pate as the world rushed by.
