Summary
"It's your brother," the Punisher says. "He needs your help."
Evidently. Vash always needs his help. He needs him to make him realise the errors in his way. He needs him to properly terminate the human race so they can be free once and for all from their parasitic hold. He needs him to lead, as a big brother should, and to achieve his potential. He needs him because they are two separated halves who only require each other to survive.
Yet the human suggests a different kind of help, one that forebodes an apocalyptic conclusion.
"These markings of yours, his turned red."
Tendrils of razor-sharp metal slither from Knives' back, as if reacting to his spikes of dread. Red, like entire rows of overworked Plants shrieking into the void. Red, like the fluids maintaining their sister's decapitated but alive body.
The Punisher's voice falters for an instant before he adds, "I've never seen them like that before."
(Or when Vash's markings become red, Knives has to intervene.)

Seo Yul prided himself on his implacable morality, but the single occasion he strayed from his principles people died by the hand of an assassin known as Naksu. It shouldn’t have been a surprise that when he erred from the righteous path once again, history repeated itself in the form of his friends, their wedding outfits splattered with blood, sobbing over Jin U-Tak’s body.
His heart sank at Cho-Yeon’s wails, and Dang-gu turned to face him with tears streaking his cheeks.
“Yul, Mu-deok… Mu-deok is a soul shifter.”
Yul gritted his teeth. There would be no third instance, no more mistakes. This time he would make things right.

Alastor strategically presses his hand to Vox’s chest, fingers splaying above that madly beating heart, and he leans in—with an expression that hopefully comes across as seductive rather than desperate.
“I want you,” he purrs, “to kiss me.”
“I—Um. What brought this on?”
“Does it matter?”
“It matters to me.”
Oh, out of all the times for him to be considerate! Alastor wasn’t expecting such hesitation; frankly, he thought Vox would jump at the slightest indication of permission. Why does he have to rein in his greedy, grabby little hands now?
“This isn’t one of those times when I’m indulging you,” Alastor says after a pause. “You are to indulge me—without questioning what I get out of it. This is not a lead up to anything sexual, and you are not to get off. I just want you to kiss me until my lips are bruised and my jaw is sore and my tongue is numb. Can you manage that?”
Alastor is coming apart at the seams after returning from a summons from Lilith. He decides to try purging the taste of her from his mouth with that of Vox’s.
