She promptly gives a much younger Dumbledore all the information he could possibly need to locate and destroy the horcruxes, and hopefully halt Voledmort's rise to power. She kindly declines his request for further assistance, she hasn’t even completed her N.E.W.T.s yet! She is soon attending classes alongside Harry’s parents and the Marauders yet feeling very alone. She can’t tell anyone the truth of herself, or can she?
Perhaps it would be safe to confide in someone with a natural talent for Occlumency, an accomplished liar who could spy for both sides but would ultimately be on the side of light? Yet this Severus Snape is not the accomplished Potions Master she once knew and trusted. She decides to strike a deal with him, and they come to an accord, secrecy for each of them, Occlumency lessons for her, and revenge against the Marauders for him. Hermione supposes revenge isn’t a very heroic, Gryffindor thing to do but she has always been good at making plans, and really, if the school administration won’t punish a bunch of bullies then taking it into their own hands is only practical.Series

Summary
23 years old, in the grand scheme of things, isn't that old. But by Lady Magic, it feels like it. Severus is only 23, and he has not only survived a charismatic narcissist, a war, spying on the narcissist and his cult, but also the near constant assault from age 11-17. And now he must survive under the scrutiny of the Ministry and Wizengamot. One false step and either he or his magic could end them in Azkaban for life. Not to mention his mother's family won't take the bloody hint. Oh, and the triplets he found stashed under his bed. Them too. But Minerva and his mother seem to be fine babysitters while he's running around like a chicken with his head cut off.

Harrison is the oldest. It is his job to protect Mione and Ron. At whatever means necessary. He knows the Silver Lady said they would be safe here, in this house that smells of sorrow and barely coping with one's own magic, but he doesn't particularly know if that's true.
Mione is quick to tell if people are bad, saying, "they look wrong, scary," and that this man is not scary.
Ron says he feels safe. Reminds him of candy floss and smells of the Silver Lady. The Silver Lady has never hurt them.

Harry is having an excellent fourteenth birthday at the Burrow, at least until Dumbledore arrives with Snape in tow. Dumbledore informs him that he must be tutored by the Potions Master in both Defence and Potions for the rest of the summer, to Harry's great dismay, and so he is dragged along to Spinner's end.
Snape didn't anticipate spending his summer housing and tutoring the son of his late enemy, and he definitely didn't expect that the boy was really nothing like how he had always assumed, but as the days progress, both wizards will learn more about the other, either from a round of questioning...or from behind the other's back.
