When Kim wrenches the door open, it's Kenta standing in the hallway, arm dropping almost comically now that he has nothing to bang it against. Except he doesn't really look like the Kenta North remembers and occasionally sees in his nightmares. That Kenta has the general vibe and humanity of one of those uncanny valley wax figures and skulks around in all black, brandishing a knife in a blood-stained hand.
This Kenta just looks kind of pathetic.

He remembers thinking it at nine years old after snapping Lewis Frankel's neck. He remembers thinking it after Soldier Boy ruined his chance of being in Beverly Hills Cop. He remembers thinking it as his skull was smashed in by the same man who had taken everything from him.
Now, here he is, forty years later. Despite being broken, the same whispering self-doubt has managed to cling onto whatever husk that's still left of him, murmuring a tiny, ‘was stopping him worth it?’
Noir shoves the thought down like every other time.
He doubts that the whole ordeal with Starlight and The Deep will affect anything. It was just one awkward moment he stumbled into by accident. How much could that possibly change for him?

This is the story of an angry ex-god who isn't ready to simply die of old age. This is what happens when Odin underestimates a God of Mischief, even a mortal one at that, and actual thinks he'll take a punishment lying down. Because seriously even without his magic, Loki has a thousand years of fighting experience that he has no qualms in using.
He didn't have an ounce of Æsir in his blood nor magic. He didn't even have a knife..
Loki had never needed any of that - magic, Æsir heritage or weapons. Blood could be spilt, magic depleted and a knife blunted but he didn't need any of that. Loki never had.
