Maybe it’s because of the unusual circumstances it’s why it takes Tengen hearing the death announcement for reality to come crashing down on him.

Jingliu turns to face him. He has grown taller in the few years she’s been gone. He still reeks of child; somewhere inside her she understands what Jing Yuan saw in him. “This will hardly be the first loved one you fight.”
Yanqing swallows, looking everywhere but at Jingliu herself. “I don’t know if I want to fight anymore,” he whispers, shaking his head.
She kneels beside him. “And it is exactly why you must continue to utilize the blade.” She stares into the horizon of the Luofu.
“I can’t. It’s not the same without him.”
She sighs. “It will never be.”
Jing Yuan succumbs to the mara. The Luofu keeps moving forward.

After battling Sunday and freeing Penacony from the Order, the former head of the Oak Family is nowhere to be found, much to the dismay of Robin, his twin sister. She searches for him to no avail, and all signs point to his gruesome death. The Family is still searching for him, to either confirm his passing, or make it a reality themselves, if need be. Despite all this, Robin refuses to lose hope, and is determined to find him, and bring him back safe and sound. They promised each other, after all, that they'd soar through the skies together.
Unbeknownst to her, Sunday is left battered and broken in the depths of the Dreamflux Reef, without any memory of his past, not even his own name. All he has is a strange invitation in the form of a poem, and a sly white-haired youth with a mysterious knowledge of the future offering to guide him. The stranger, promising to help him uncover memories of his past, leads him to a group of interesting and morally questionable characters who call themselves the Stellaron Hunters.
