Summary
Tony DiNozzo and Aaron Hotchner have been friends since the Kyle Boone case. Now that Gibbs is back, at least physically, Tony's life has become a series of impossible choices. Is his director really accepting Gibbs' instant reinstatement with no questions asked? Is the offer of Rota, Spain real or a feint to keep Tony working undercover with Benoit? He needs Hotch's help to figure it all out. But Hotch is dealing with his own psychologically damaged teammate, Elle Greenaway. And his own less than helpful mentor, Jason Gideon, is throwing up roadblocks. Grief, guilt, and trauma recovery are all tangled up with government red tape and Tony's head is spinning. Hopefully, Hotch and Tony can join forces and get their teams back on solid ground.

Completely random. No rhyme, no reason, no discernible cost, no obvious benefit. Some people change their decisions, some don’t. But the Manus Dei are a breed apart. They go back years, a decade, more. They serve a patron with purpose and reason, and while the changes in their actions always have great benefits, the personal cost is also great.

Summary
In the aftermath of Rivkin's death, Tony finds he has people willing to have his back. Avoiding the trip to Israel, he actually gets the care he deserves. That this leads to consequences for those willing to bend the rules is an added bonus.
Born from the brain of a frustrated occupational therapist/fanfic author, who hated the fact that medically, the writers got EVERYTHING wrong, this is an attempt to put the Aliyah episode on the straight and narrow. And perhaps ensure a little justice for Tony along the way. Probably not for Ziva fans (but then, neither was the episode, in truth).

Summary
I've always wondered what purpose was served sending Tony away as Agent Afloat if it wasn't punishment. Vance said he split up the team to find the mole. Seems a pretty clumsy way to go about it but it sort of makes sense for the other team members. Leaves a big black hole in terms of the purpose of Tony's deployment. Gibbs was assigned to work with the suspects even if he didn’t know (and how dumb was that not to tell him). McGee was sent down to cyber-crimes to crack code and Ziva sent to chase a lead when she returned to Israel. Tony was the only one who had no role in tracking the mole and no, hacking into the Pentagon computer doesn’t count since there's no way Vance intended to use him like that. It was just a spur-of-the-moment plan McGee come up with.
Furthermore, when Langer was wrongly identified as the mole, Vance immediately agreed to McGee and Ziva returning to resume their positions on the MCRT even though Ziva wasn't even an NCIS agent. Yet he stubbornly refused to recall Tony and tried to have his position filled by another agent. Thus the comment that his deployment not being punitive then begs the very real question...what heck was it then?

Vance offered DiNozzo an out from the sticky situation, thinking he would profit all around with that manoeuvre. In the end, Tony finds an unexpected path that will take him to the stars.

Summary
A case kept haunting Tony. There was nothing really special about the case, aside from the awful waste of life a murder always was. They could find justice for the victims, but it didn't ever bring someone back to life. It wasn't the murder victim that haunted Tony at any rate. It was his mother and her interview. He had seen grief and devastation in the eyes of that mother. But he had also seen a spark.
Time and again, Tony heard her words and since then, he had been looking at his team differently. Most of all, he had been looking at Gibbs differently. And deep within himself, he felt something stir. It might even be a spark.
