He thrusted up into the warm heat growling at how wet his thighs had become. He could close his eyes; he knew Daniel's face by heart. Could picture every laugh line and crow's feet from squinting to read in a poorly lit office. Recreate the tip of Daniel's ears, slop of his nose, and the jaw Paul could spend days worshiping. But he didn't close his eyes for fear Daneil would be gone when he opened them again.

Therefore they create five phases of being lost. Phases one and two mean you'd definitely return to Earth if possible while four and five mean you don't have to without consequence.
