"You look just like him back when he was one of our brightest, shining stars," the being hummed as he checked for wings on the infant's back; laughing sardonically after discovering the soft, downy feathers that would have the new cherubs flocking in droves to care for the Nephilim. "Pity, really, that you don't need them."
The night Rin was taken from Shirou's hold was the same night his angelic wings were burned, leaving behind charred stubs and tender, bleeding skin; marking his first taste of pain.
